GAM Premium Planetary is a series of precision planetary gearboxes from GAM Enterprises (USA), offered both as standalone and integrated with servo motor adapters. The Premium Planetary features a steel housing, case-hardened chrome-nickel steel gears, needle bearings on planetary stages, and a splined ring output.
Available sizes: PP-042 to PP-115. Ratios: 3:1 to 20:1 (single stage) and to 100:1 (compound). Backlash: <=5 arc-min (standard), <=1 arc-min (Reduced Backlash option). Efficiency: >=97%. Output torque: 20-750 Nm. Operating temperature: -20 to +90 degrees C.
GAM Premium Planetary is available with pre-engineered adapters for Yaskawa, Siemens, B&R, Lenze, Parker, Rexroth, and many others. Used in indexing, printing, cutting machines, gantry axes, and feeders. Stainless and food-grade versions available.

Which group GAM Premium Planetary belongs to and how it is built
Gearboxes & Transmission is a subcategory of mechanical components responsible for changing gear ratios, transmitting torque, and matching drive characteristics to application requirements. It includes planetary and harmonic gearboxes, reducers, transmission elements, and other mechanical assemblies used in joints, manipulators, and robotic drives. These components are critical to force output, motion precision, and dynamic performance.
A planetary gearbox is a mechanical transmission that uses a planetary gear arrangement to achieve high gear ratios within a compact form factor. In robotics, it is commonly used in axis drives, manipulators, mobile modules, and actuator assemblies where high torque is required in constrained mounting spaces. Planetary gearboxes are valued for their power density, rigidity, and compactness.
