Netzer Precision VLX/VLT is a family of thin, lightweight absolute hollow-shaft encoders designed for robotic arms, humanoid joints and harmonic drives. The key feature is capacitive sensing (Electric Encoder) instead of optical or magnetic, so the encoder requires no sealing against dust and is immune to magnetic interference from PMSM motors.
VLT and VLX models offer 19-20-bit resolution per revolution (up to 1 million steps), with +/-30 arc-sec accuracy, in a housing below 10 mm tall and central bore up to 90 mm. Communication outputs include SSI, BiSS-C, SPI, and analog sin/cos. Netzer supplies encoders to Robotis, ABB, Schunk and many academic humanoid prototypes.

serves as: Sensing, Precision Joint Motion, Closed-Loop Drive Control.
