DYNAMIXEL MX-106R

The DYNAMIXEL MX-106R is the flagship servo in ROBOTIS MX series. Equipped with a 4096 PPR magnetic encoder (0.088° resolution) and multi-mode control: position, velocity, and torque. Supports Dynamixel Protocol 1.0 over RS-485 or TTL.

Delivers 8.4 Nm stall torque at 11.1 V with thermal management and overload detection. Used in humanoids (ROBOTIS-OP3), manipulators, and educational platforms.

Market class

A subcategory covering joint actuators — integrated drive units combining a motor, gearbox, encoder, and control electronics in a single module, used in the joints of robot limbs and torsos.

A servo motor is a motor that operates in conjunction with a control system and feedback loop, enabling precise control of position, velocity, and torque. In robotics, servo drives are widely used in manipulators, motion axes, grippers, and positioning systems where high accuracy and dynamic response are required. A servo can be implemented as an off-the-shelf module or as an assembly of a motor, encoder, and controller.
