The Sunrise Instruments M3714B2 is a six-axis force/torque (F/T) load cell from the M37XX series, supplied in a circular, coupled form factor. It measures three force components (Fx, Fy, Fz) and three moment components (Mx, My, Mz) in a single stainless steel housing of 70 mm outer diameter and 23 mm height.
The sensor uses matrix decoupling (a 6×6 matrix is provided in the delivered calibration sheet). In the B2 variant the manufacturer integrates a Data Acquisition System (DAS) and a CAN bus interface into the housing, removing the need for an external amplifier and interface box. Measurement range: 900 N (Fx, Fy), 1800 N (Fz), 100 N·m (Mx, My, Mz). Standard protection rating is IP60; selected models in the series are also offered in IP68.
The M37XX series is designed for robotics, finger-force research and general testing. With a 70 mm OD and CAN bus output, the M3714B2 fits force-feedback measurements on collaborative robot end-effectors, force control applications, and instrumented test rigs in automotive and automation R&D.

Which group Sunrise Instruments M3714B2 belongs to and how it is built
A Force Torque Sensor measures linear forces and rotational torques at a single measurement point. In robotics, it is particularly important in manipulators, robot wrists, grippers, and human–robot collaboration systems. It enables force control, contact detection, load monitoring, and improved safety and manipulation precision. Sensors of this type are widely used in assembly, laboratory, and research applications.
