Boston Dynamics Stretch

Shipping

Stretch is Boston Dynamics specialized mobile robot designed to automate container/trailer unloading and case picking in warehouses. The robot features a 7-DOF arm with the Smart Gripper (vacuum end-effector with embedded vision sensors), a compact omnidirectional 4-wheel mobile base, and a perception tower with cameras and 2D LiDAR. Stretch operates in real time, making decisions on the fly without pre-programming, and automatically detects and recovers cases that fall during unloading.

The robot handles cases up to 22.7 kg (50 lbs), runs through single or multiple shifts on a battery (hot-swap between batteries for no downtime), and integrates with existing warehouse infrastructure without costly retrofits. Customers: Gap, DHL, Maersk, OTTO Group/Hermes, Arvato, NFI, H&M. Throughput in the hundreds of cases per hour.
