The FX Aegis Classic is a compact quadruped embodied-AI robot from Faraday Future, positioned as a professional robot for security (patrol, surveillance) and companionship. It is the consumer/prosumer model of the FX Aegis family, distinct from the industrial flagship FX Aegis Hyper.
The model is offered in several trims sharing 630 × 360 × 465 mm dimensions: Pro (from $4,490, IP32, quadruped 12 DOF, 3.7 m/s, 15 kg), Pro Edu ($9,990, with SDK/API pack, 15 kg), Ultra ($12,990, IP54, 12 DOF, 5.0 m/s, 16 kg) and Ultra-W ($12,990, IP54).
Ultra-W is the top trim in a wheel-legged configuration: the letter "W" stands for wheels. It has 16 degrees of freedom (12 joint motors + 4 wheel hub motors), exceeds 5.5 m/s, clears obstacles up to 60 cm and gradients up to 40°, weighs 22 kg and carries an IP54 rating. It is not a separate product nor a variant of the Hyper — it is a trim of the FX Aegis Classic.
Compute is built on an 8-core CPU, with perception provided by an 8 MP wide-angle camera and an IMU (no LiDAR). Each joint delivers 48 N·m peak torque. A swappable battery provides about 120 minutes of runtime and up to roughly 9 km of range on flat ground, with ~1-hour charging. The robot operates from 0–40°C and produces around 55 dB of noise in wheel-legged mode. Expansion is via Ethernet, USB 3.0/2.0 and an open SDK/API.
