The FX Aegis Hyper is a large-scale, industrial-grade quadruped embodied-AI robot built for autonomous inspection and unmanned operation in demanding and hazardous industrial environments. Its maker, Faraday Future, positions it as America's first large-scale, professional-grade quadruped embodied-AI robot for all-weather unmanned inspection.
The robot measures 1,000 × 470 × 715 mm and weighs 59 kg (including battery), with a maximum payload of 85 kg. It reaches up to 4.95 m/s, climbs gradients up to ±45° and stairs up to 20 cm per step, and has 12 degrees of freedom (DOF).
Its perception stack combines 4-channel HD LiDAR, an RGB-D depth camera, infrared thermal imaging and HD vision, enabling autonomous navigation in darkness and variable lighting, environment mapping, obstacle detection and mission path execution.
Power comes from a 1,613 Wh battery providing roughly 4 hours of continuous operation and a range of ≥10 km per charge, with tool-free hot-swappable batteries. The robot carries an IP67 rating and operates from −20°C to +55°C. Interfaces include Ethernet, USB 2.0 and multi-channel 12V/24V power outputs. Pricing starts at $137,900.
