Honda ASIMO
ASIMO (Advanced Step in Innovative Mobility) is a humanoid robot by Honda, developed from 1999 and publicly unveiled in October 2000. For over two decades it stood as a symbol of progress in bipedal robotics, building on the E-series (1986–1993) and P-series (1993–1997) research platforms. The final 2011 revision achieved 57 DOF, a running speed of 9 km/h, and one hour of operation on a single charge. Honda retired ASIMO from active demonstrations in March 2022, stating that the technology would be applied to remote-controlled and avatar-style robotics. In 2004, ASIMO was inducted into the Carnegie Mellon Robot Hall of Fame.
