MELFA is a brand of industrial and collaborative robots manufactured by Mitsubishi Electric. The family comprises three main types: RV-series vertical articulated robots (RV-FR, RV-CR), RH-series horizontal SCARA robots (RH-FRH, RH-CRH) and the ASSISTA collaborative robot.
MELFA robots integrate with MELSEC iQ-R series PLCs and Mitsubishi Electric servo drives, while programming and 3D simulation are handled in the MELSOFT RT ToolBox3 engineering software.
The MELFA FR PLUS line improves trajectory accuracy and reduces positioning time via the MELFA High Drive function and an expanded force-sensor lineup. MELFA Smart Plus intelligent functions and options such as 2D/3D vision sensors, a force-sensor set and the R86TB teaching box extend applications to precision assembly, fitting and model-less part picking.
Typical applications include assembly, pick and place, palletizing, machine tending, welding and surface finishing across the electronics, automotive, food and pharmaceutical industries.
