Pollen Robotics
Reachy 2 is the second generation of the humanoid manipulator robot from French company Pollen Robotics (acquired by Hugging Face in April 2025). It combines an anthropomorphic upper body (two 7-DoF arms built from Orbita 2D/3D actuators and a 3-DoF neck) with an omnidirectional mobile base equipped with LiDAR and three omni wheels. The entire hardware and software stack is open — from CAD files through firmware up to the Python SDK and ROS 2 Humble documentation.
Reachy 2 primarily serves research labs and universities working on manipulation, imitation learning, VR teleoperation (Meta Quest) and dataset collection for control policies. The head carries a suite of vision sensors (fisheye Arducam IMX296, ToF Luxonis OAK-FFC 33D, OAK-FFC 4P encoder) while the torso hosts an Orbbec Gemini 336 RGB-D camera.
