FANUC R-1000iA
FANUC
FANUC R-1000iA is a family of 6-axis articulated FANUC industrial robotic arms positioned in the medium payload segment. The distinctive bright-yellow arm with a black base has been a hallmark of the FANUC brand for decades. The R-1000iA line includes 80, 100, 120, and 130 kg payload variants, all sharing the same load-bearing structure.
Family variants
R-1000iA/80F — 80 kg payload variant.
R-1000iA/100F — the most popular variant: 100 kg payload, 2230 mm reach, ±0.2 mm repeatability, 665 kg weight, IP54 class, axis speeds up to 720°/s. Designed as a lightweight spot welding robot with no performance compromises.
R-1000iA/120F-H — 120 kg payload with a hollow wrist for routing cables/hoses through the arm, crucial for welding.
R-1000iA/130F — the flagship 130 kg variant with a compact design optimized for tight spaces.
Market positioning
R-1000iA fills a gap in the FANUC portfolio between the smaller handling robots M-10/M-20 (5-25 kg) and the heavy M-900/M-1000/M-2000 (300-2,300 kg). The dominant market is automotive — Body-in-White spot welding, part transfer, stamping press tending, and CNC machine tending. The robot integrates with the R-30iB Plus controller (FANUC's most common) and supports iRVision for tasks requiring camera-based part localization.
