Fourier GR1 is a general-purpose humanoid robot developed by Chinese company Fourier Intelligence (Shanghai). First unveiled in July 2023, mass production began in 2024. The robot stands 165 cm tall, weighs approximately 55 kg, and features 40 degrees of freedom in full configuration (32 DOF in base version).
GR1 has a 50 kg payload capacity, 230 Nm peak hip torque, and reaches walking speeds up to 5 km/h. It uses proprietary FSA (Fourier Smart Actuator) series-elastic actuators with up to 300 Nm of torque — Fourier Intelligence's in-house design, previously known for rehabilitation robots.
The robot is offered as a research platform for AI and embodied intelligence laboratories. Base price is approximately USD 150,000. Fourier has also announced GR-2 (2024) and a new generation GR-3 (2025) with increased DOF count and improved dexterous hands.
