Unitree Go2 is a consumer/educational quadruped robot developed by Unitree Robotics, launched in August 2023 as the successor to Go1. The robot weighs 15 kg, measures 70 × 31 × 40 cm, has 12 degrees of freedom, and reaches running speeds up to 3.7 m/s (Air version) or 5 m/s (EDU version).
Go2 is available in three variants: Air (from USD 1,600, base configuration), Pro (USD 3,500, upgraded sensors), and EDU (USD 8,000+, full SDK, ROS 2, LiDAR L1 4D). All models offer a built-in language model integration in the mobile app (linked to GPT API) for voice interaction and high-level commands.
The robot uses Livox 4D LiDAR for autonomous navigation and SLAM mapping. The integrated Nvidia Jetson Orin NX (8 GB) in the EDU version provides compute power for running custom AI models. The battery delivers 1-2 hours of runtime per cycle with hot-swap capability.
