5-finger hand · serves as: End effector, Gripper, Manipulator.
Which group Seed Robotics RH4D belongs to and how it is built
Multi-functional robotic hands used primarily in research labs on grasping and manipulation.
Anthropomorphic five-finger hand mimicking the proportions of a human hand.
The Seed Robotics RH4D is an advanced research manipulator in a compact form factor, sharing the same technology as the human-inspired RH8D, RH7D and RH5D robot hands. It delivers 11 degrees of freedom controlled by 4 smart actuators fully contained inside the unit.
The four actuated axes are wrist rotation, wrist flexion, index flexion, and combined index + middle finger flexion with tendon tension equalization (fingers conform independently to object shape).
An EROS control board and smart actuators deliver up to 120 Hz feedback for position, speed, temperature, PWM output and high-resolution current measurement on every actuated joint. A palm distance sensor detects object proximity, and optional capacitive pads on the back of the hand enable richer H.R.I. interactions.
The manipulator ships with an open-source ROS package, a Python (PyPot) library and a low-level UART serial protocol. Interfaces include UART over RS485 (or TTL compatible with Robotis systems), USB for configuration and maintenance, and optional Bluetooth. An ISO 9409-1-50 mounting adapter fits most robot arms.
