Khosla Ventures

Khosla Ventures is an American venture capital firm headquartered in Menlo Park, California, founded in 2004 by Vinod Khosla - co-founder of Sun Microsystems and a former general partner at Kleiner Perkins. The firm invests primarily at the early stage across a broad range of technologies: artificial intelligence, computing and internet, mobile, financial services, agriculture, healthcare and biotech, and clean technology. Khosla Ventures is known for bold, long-horizon technology bets. According to available data the firm managed roughly $15B in assets (2021) and in November 2023 closed $3.1B across three new funds. Its most notable investments include OpenAI (Khosla was its first VC investor in 2018; in October 2024 the firm raised an additional $405M special purpose vehicle for OpenAI), as well as Instacart, DoorDash, Affirm, Square/Block, Stripe, Rocket Lab, Commonwealth Fusion Systems, Impossible Foods, GitLab and Okta. Khosla Ventures is also one of the investors in Discovery Loop.
