The PyTorch Foundation is a neutral, community-driven open source organization operating as part of the Linux Foundation. It was established in September 2022, when Meta transferred the PyTorch project to independent, vendor-neutral governance under the foundation. Its mission is to drive the adoption of AI and deep learning by supporting an open, vendor-neutral ecosystem built around PyTorch. The foundation hosts the PyTorch project and related open source projects, runs global events, delivers training, and supports research. Its activities are overseen by a Governing Board in accordance with the PyTorch Foundation Charter. The original creator of the PyTorch framework is Meta AI (FAIR).
