X Corp is an American technology company operating the X social-media platform, formerly known as Twitter. It was incorporated in March 2023 as the legal successor to Twitter, Inc. following Elon Musk's October 2022 USD 44 billion acquisition of Twitter and its integration into his holding structure.
The X platform supports short text posts, photos, video and live broadcasts, offers the paid X Premium subscription (which includes access to xAI's Grok models), and exposes a developer API. The corporate headquarters has been Bastrop, Texas since 2024; the San Francisco office remains operational.
On 28 March 2025 xAI announced the all-stock acquisition of X Corp, valuing X Corp at roughly USD 33 billion and the combined entity at roughly USD 113 billion. Since then X Corp has operated as a subsidiary of xAI (formally xAI Holdings Corp.).
