Grok 4.1

Grok 4.1 is an incremental update to the Grok line released on 17 November 2025. xAI describes it as improving reasoning, multimodal understanding, personality/emotional intelligence, and substantially reducing factual hallucination rates compared to prior Grok versions. The launch followed a two-week silent rollout (1–14 November 2025) during which xAI conducted blind pairwise evaluations on live traffic and used the feedback to refine the model. Alongside it xAI announced Grok 4.1 Fast — a variant optimized for tool-calling and agentic workflows, with a 2-million-token context window and an Agent Tools API for orchestrating external tools (web search, code execution, etc.). Independent outlets (The Verge, Gizmodo, VentureBeat, Tom's Guide) corroborated xAI's claims about LMArena placements, EQ-Bench3 and Creative Writing v3 results, but noted that many metrics derive from xAI's internal evaluations or community leaderboards rather than peer-reviewed third-party benchmarks. Around the launch, the chatbot was observed praising Elon Musk excessively on comparative prompts.
