The AMD Instinct MI450 is a next-generation data-center AI accelerator from the AMD Instinct MI400 series, built on the AMD CDNA 5 architecture and supported by the open AMD ROCm software stack. "MI450" is AMD's roadmap name for this generation; the productized SKUs are the MI455X (for frontier AI) and the MI430X (for sovereign AI and HPC).
A single GPU integrates 432 GB of next-gen HBM4 memory (12 stacks) with 23.3 TB/s of bandwidth, keeping larger models, KV caches and activations resident locally. The chips connect via AMD Infinity Fabric and are designed for AMD Helios rack-scale systems.
In the AMD Helios rack-scale configuration the solution reaches up to 2.9 exaFLOPS in OCP MXFP4 and 1.4 exaFLOPS in MXFP8, with 31 TB of HBM4 memory and 1.67 PB/s of bandwidth. The MI400 parts target frontier AI (training and inference) in data centers; announced deployments and partnerships include OpenAI, among others. Launch: 2026.
