Harmonic Drive SHD-20 is a compact strain wave gear from the SHD series by Harmonic Drive LLC, size 20. It features a large hollow shaft through-bore that allows cable or pipe routing through the axis center -- particularly useful in robot joints. The three-component mechanism (wave generator, flexspline, circular spline) delivers near-zero backlash reduction.
Available gear ratios: 50:1, 80:1, 100:1, 120:1, 160:1. Peak output torque: 32 Nm (at ratio 100), continuous torque: 11 Nm. Angular backlash: <=1 arc-min (near zero). Weight approx. 0.27 kg. Operating temperature: -10 to +70 degrees C. Lubrication: long-life H1 grease or oil.
The SHD series is widely used in robot arm joints (cobots, industrial manipulators), EGC axes, medical positioning devices, and space instrumentation. Sold as a complete unit type ready for mounting to a servo motor.
