MANUS Metagloves is a line of professional hand and finger motion capture gloves developed by the Dutch company MANUS (Manus Machinae B.V.). The gloves use proprietary Quantum sensors based on electromagnetic field (EMF) tracking, providing millimeter accuracy without drift and without the occlusion problems typical of optical systems.
The current model, Metagloves Pro, measures a full anatomical hand model with 25 degrees of freedom (25 DOF) using five EMF sensors (6-DOF tracking per sensor: 3-axis position and 3-axis rotation) at a 120 Hz sampling rate. Connectivity is wired over USB-C or wireless over Bluetooth 5.0 (dongle) with a range of up to 15 m.
Beyond mocap and animation (VR, film, games), the gloves are used in robotics: for teleoperation of dexterous robot hands and for collecting high-quality datasets for manipulation learning and robotic foundation model development. The manufacturer states ROS 2 integration. The first generation, Quantum Metagloves, has been discontinued.
