VESC 6 MkVI

VESC 6 MkVI (Vedder Electronic Speed Controller) is the sixth generation of the open-source BLDC/PMSM motor controller designed by Benjamin Vedder. Supports FOC (Field-Oriented Control) for quiet and efficient brushless motor control in both sensored and sensorless modes.

Electrical specifications: 8–60 V DC input, ~100 A continuous current (with adequate cooling), up to 240 A peak current. MCU: STM32F4 or newer 32-bit ARM Cortex-M. Onboard IMU (MPU-9250), absolute magnetic encoder (AS5047 compatible), CAN, UART, USB, SPI, PPM/PWM interfaces.

Firmware and hardware are published under open licenses (LGPL v3/CC BY-SA). Configuration via VESC Tool application (Windows/Linux/macOS/Android). Widely used in electric longboards, mobile robots, drones, and academic research.
