Pharos is ANYbotics' proprietary navigation module built specifically for the ANYmal robot. It performs 3D simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) by fusing data from a 360° LiDAR and six depth cameras, delivering centimeter-accurate maps of multi-floor industrial facilities with no need for navigation markers, QR codes, or GPS.
The system enables fully autonomous navigation in complex environments (narrow passages, grated floors, wet and uneven terrain, stairs), facility-wide route optimization, and continuous inspection data acquisition independent of network connectivity. Mapping range: up to 4 km in a single pass.
