1X NEO is a home humanoid robot developed by Norwegian-American company 1X Technologies (formerly Halodi Robotics). The robot is designed for autonomous everyday household tasks — cleaning, putting away dishes, doing laundry — and is available for pre-order with a $200 deposit. This is the company's first consumer robot; 1X previously deployed the wheeled EVE robot in industrial environments.

NEO features a unique safety-first design: the entire body is covered with a soft 3D lattice polymer structure for impact absorption, joints are fully enclosed (no pinch points), and tendon-driven actuation delivers low inertia and 95% backdrivability. The deformable soft body combined with a light mass (~30 kg) and 70 kg lift capacity make NEO one of the safest humanoid robots for home use.

The robot's AI is based on Redwood AI — 1X Technologies' proprietary vision-language-action (VLM) model. It operates autonomously for known tasks; for new tasks the owner can schedule an Expert Mode session in which a remote 1X operator supervises and teaches NEO new skills. The onboard computer is the 1X NEO Cortex built on an Nvidia Jetson Thor module delivering up to 2070 TFLOPS FP4.

Specs: 74 DOF total (hands 22×2, arms 7×2, neck 3, spine 2, legs 6×2), walking speed 1.4 m/s, max run 6.2 m/s, 842 Wh battery — 4h runtime with quick charge 6 min/h. Dual 8.85 MP 90 Hz stereo fisheye cameras, 4 beamforming microphones, 3-stage speakers, WiFi/BT/5G connectivity. Hands IP68, body IP44.
