FF Nova mini humanoid robot by Faraday Future

FF Nova

Announced

FF Nova is a mini Embodied AI (EAI) humanoid robot developed by Faraday Future within the FF EAI Robotics Ecosystem, aimed at developers and educational institutions. It stands about 49.7 cm tall and weighs about 2.8 kg, so it can be carried with one hand. It has 20 degrees of freedom (2 in the head, 3 in each arm and 6 in each leg).

The robot moves in two modes: it walks on two legs at about 0.1 m/s and rolls on a detachable wheeled base at up to 0.8 m/s, clearing obstacles up to 2 cm high. It is powered by a 10 TOPS compute unit with 8 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage, running model inference on-device.

Its sensor suite includes a top-mounted 2D LiDAR, a wide-angle camera of about 4 MP, a 3D ToF sensor and a three-microphone array with sound-source localization and voiceprint recognition. The robot has a 2-inch face display at 240×296 resolution with illuminated “ears” and a mono speaker.

Nova supports reinforcement learning, simulation training and Sim2Real transfer, SLAM, LLM and VLA models, open AI-agent integration and an open SDK with full-stack control. It is priced at $2,490; the first phase is limited to 100 units for developers and educational institutions.
