Lumi is a social humanoid robot developed by Lightberry, a company based in San Francisco. It is built on the Unitree G1 platform (a G1-compatible body with 29 degrees of freedom), extended by Lightberry with proprietary sensors, the Lightberry OS operating system and an SDK. In total the robot has 34 degrees of freedom, with the additional joints driving head movements (nod, shake, tilt) and expressive eyes.
The robot stands about 1.3 m (4 ft 2 in) tall and weighs approximately 40 kg. Each eye holds a 1920×1200 camera running at 30 FPS, and audio perception is provided by a beamforming microphone array with high dynamic range. Compute is handled by an NVIDIA Jetson Thor module with 64 GiB of memory, complemented by 10 Gb networking for external sensors and two USB-C 3.1 ports. A 421 Wh battery delivers 2.5 to 3.5 hours of operation.
Lumi is positioned as an interactive robot able to hold conversations, take photos, look up information and be customized through the Lightberry SDK. It is priced at $39,990 with shipping announced for 2026.
