Redwood AI is 1X Technologies' proprietary generalist model (VLM — vision-language-action) developed as the AI system for the NEO robot. It enables the robot to understand voice commands, plan household tasks, navigate autonomously and manipulate objects. The model is continuously improved using data collected by the NEO robot fleet and Expert Mode sessions in which 1X operators remotely guide the robot to teach it new skills.
